Ranking System, Character Balance, and FAQ

Sat Oct 24, 2009, 5:42 PM
FAQ:

1. How does a battle element for a Shinobi mean?

A: If you've read the manga, you'll know about the little strips of paper that conduct someones Chakra and tells them their Element. Here, since you are all going to start as Gennin in your own Villages, you only get one for now. When you will get to Jounin, you may choose another. Then, if we deem you worthy after you reach ANBU level (explained below) you may choose another one.

2. Why cant I start out at Chuunin or Jounin level? I have a character that I've built up over time!

A: Because not everyone does. It is perfectly acceptable to send in your character with their awesome Kekkei Genkai and Jutsu all ready, but the Admins will Rank the jutsu, and thus you will be allowed to use each one as you reach the rank, as follows.

Gennin: C rank and below Jutsu
Chuunin: B rank and below Jutsu
Jounin: A rank and below Jutsu
ANBU: S rank and below
Sannin: Classified

We will come up with appropriate Jutsu to release when Shinobi start getting to the Sannin rank. So trust us, we want to see your awesome "Spinning Flaming Death Jutsu" as much as you want to show it. But you have to wait until you reach that rank! We want people to feel like they have a way to be equal with each other.

3. What about generic Jutsus that they learned in the Academy?

A: Those are perfectly acceptable. Clone Jutsu, Substitution, Transformation, etc. are all acceptable as long as the Ninja Academy would teach them. The admins will come up with a list of predetermined acceptable jutsu that are allowed to be used at all times.

4. Can I use the Sharingan/Byakugan/Rinnegan?

A: This is a tough question to answer. Sharingan is permitted, but in only ONE person. So if it is taken, don't complain. It's taken. Same for Byakugan. We may make exceptions if you get a friend to make your characters sister, or something. The Rinnegan is not allowed AT ALL. So dont even ask.

5. How do I rank up?

A: Read the ranking system below! =3

RANKINGS

Ninja Academy Student: This is the rank you are assigned when you join while you finish your Character sheet. Think of it as a probation period. You have 10 days after sending in your characters profile to submit your full, colored character sheet, or your slot in a team will be given away. No hard feelings. Deadlines are important. :3

Gennin: This is where you start once you are officially a member of the club. From here, you will be assigned a team when there are enough people, and there will be personal and team missions for you to go on. The admins will play the roles of your teachers until we get more members, and will lead your team on their team missions. To advance to Chuunin, you must participate in the "Chuunin Exam". We will hold these once or twice a month once the club gets rolling, and you can enter alone or as a team. To qualify for the Chuunin Exam, you must have at least 15 points, and have gone on at least 3 Team missions of C or lower rank and 3 personal missions of C or lower rank.

Chuunin: This is when things get interesting. There will be a larger range of Missions available for you, and you will have unlocked more of the jutsu that you originally submitted. Once at this rank, you can start consulting your lands Kage about learning new techniques that fit your element. To advance from Chuunin, you must participate in the "Jounin Exam". We will hold these once every two months once the club gets rolling. To qualify for the Jounin exam, you must have AT LEAST 45 points and gone on 7 missions of C or lower rank, and 3 missions of B or lower rank.

Jounin: This is the highest Rank you can go without an invitation from the Kage of your village. This is the point where almost all of your Jutsus you originally submitted will be availiable to you, and you will be able to go on A rank missions. Here, you will be assigned a squad of three new Gennin once we get more members. To advance from Jounin, you must participate in the "ANBU Invitational Competition", which we will hold at the discretion of the Kages. To even be considered for the test, you must have AT LEAST 75 points, have completed 20 Missions of B or lower rank and at least 3 A rank missions.

ANBU: This is a rank that holds very high priority in the Villages. Kages use the ANBU to Carry out some of the most Diabolical Missions, like assassinations and secret messages. These ninja have no face, no true name until they are either pulled out (with no loss of rank or authority) or promoted... But power comes with risks. ANBU are often used as bait and sent on suicide missions. At think rank, all the Jutsu you submitted originally will be avaliable to you. To be promoted to "Satoosa (Legendary)" or "Sannin" status, you must be selected by the Kage of your village and defeat another ANBU member in either Chatroom or Forum combat, depending on the will of the Kage. Missions will be sent via secret messages to the ANBU members, and their results will be the only thing that other Ninja outside the ANBU will ever see. You may want to buddy up early... Anbu are mobilized in teams of 2 - 4 Members.

Satoosa/Sannin: The highest rank you can achieve in the club. Here, missions are unimportant, and you may choose one or two ninja to train individually for a short time. These Ninja may refuse your help, but chances are, they wont. You are free to create new jutsus, as well as call on any you have seen before in the Show or Manga.

Theres no need for a Kage section since the Kages will remain the same unless one leaves the club XD

OKAY!!!

BALANCING CHARACTERS

=mongrelssister :iconmongrelssister: has made an AWESOME balanced OC system. It really is something you should check out and use. It's all explained there, so dont ask me about balancing the OCs. XD If you need help, refer to her characters sheet.

GO THERE!!! YOU MUST USE THIS TEMPLATE FOR YOUR PROFILE!!!!

ONE LAST THING ABOUT YOUR OCS

It doesn't matter to your admins, but if someone is asking you to stop being a mushy, dramatic roleplayer, please respect that. They may have joined for an Action RP instead of a Romance. Romance, however, is encouraged. Action is encouraged. But if someone doesn't want one or the other, just let it go. RP with someone else.

That is all. Thank you for reading.

PS THERE WILL BE A TEST
